It is the extraordinary vision of the administration and the immeasurable dedication of the staff that has allowed Learning Prep School to provide services for special needs children over the past 39 years. The community has recognized the uniquely safe learning environment that has been created and innovative teaching methods which Learning Prep School has implemented. It is with great pleasure that we invite you to view the articles below.

  • 1998, The Boston Globe featured an article commending Learning Prep School’s ability to create and maintain a safe learning environment for its students. This commitment continues today.

  • 2006, Learning Prep School was awarded the Dr. Albert Upton Award for its exemplarily use of “Thinking Maps” integrated throughout the Elementary, Middle and High School Curriculums. Over 6,000 public schools use Thinking Maps and only a handful of private schools. Yet, Learning Prep School was chosen, for the way Thinking Maps are incorporated into the whole program.

  • 2007, Learning Prep School was the proud recipient of grant monies from the Sean McDonough Foundation Inc. for their Professional Technology Develoment Project.

  • 2009, Learning Prep School received the Picturing America Program from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Picturing America is a free initiative from the NEH that helps teach American history and culture by bringing some of the country's great art directly to classrooms and libraries.

  • 2009, Learning Prep School was also selected as one of 4000 libraries across America by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Association of Libraries (ALA) to receive free hard cover editions of the 17 classic books as part of the we the We the People Bookshelf Grant program.

  • 2009, Learning Prep School was selected as a NASET school of excellence.

  • 2009, Learning Prep School teams up with Got Books to raise money for school library.

  • 2010, LPS Students Write to President Obama.

  • 2010, Target Field Trip Grant.
