A Message from Our E/MS Principal and Dean of Students . . .

Learning Prep Elementary/Middle School is a special place filled with extraordinary people - hard working students, dedicated and experienced teaching staff, and committed families.  It is a place where really amazing things happen every day…such as students learning how to advocate for themselves and asking a teacher for help, or learning how to be a resilient learner and sticking with something even though it is challenging.  Students often learn the skills necessary to become a friend and experience their first genuine friendship at Learning Prep.  Many students are finally happy about going to school and jump out of bed with a smile on their face.  It is wonderful to be a witness to many student  successes that happen throughout the days, weeks, months, and years at the Learning Prep School.

Learning Prep School is a place where the first step toward academic achievement is teaching each student how to learn, through the consistent application of strategies appropriate to each individual learner.  Students find success with a great deal of structure and support built into the day throughout their classes, their assignments, their homework, and even their social interactions.  This type of scaffolding allows for growth and learning and a gradual increase of independence that allows for more ownership and understanding, both academically and socially.

Perhaps the single most notable characteristic of Learning Prep School is the Safe Learning Environment. This commitment is held by all staff members and allows students to feel supported in order to gain confidence to take the necessary learning risks that many have never been able to take before.

If you are visiting our web site for the first time, please plan a visit or a tour to truly understand the impact Learning Prep School has on our students and their families.
