LPS marked Wednesday, March 7th with more than just heavy snow and a half day -- it inaugurated its new Spirit program! Faculty and students were divided into two teams -- Blue and Green -- and engaged in a friendly game of Jeopardy, made up of questions drawn from a variety of topics such as popular culture, Netflicks and gaming. Other friendly competitions will be scheduled throughout the year. All students and faculty received blue or green team shirts with the motto "LPS, Part of It, Proud of It" and spread out throughout classrooms in the High School, helping one another find answers and using faculty as score keepers. Enthusiasm ran high, and the morning ended with an ice cream party in the cafeteria. When the points were tallied from all the Blue and Green teams, it was Green that took home the honors for the day to great cheering from the winning side. In the lead up to Spirit Day, team posters and signs throughout the school heralded the coming of a new and fun tradition, and from the response of both teams, it is a tradition that seems to be off to a great start!
