As weather is very unpredictable across the many communities we serve, we encourage you to always use your best judgment to guide your decision to send your child to school on days that school is open. If a child stays home due to weather, it is considered an excused absence.
In the event of inclement weather, we would like to remind you of the many ways in which you can find the status of Learning Prep School on days with severe weather.
- Website: Go to www.learningprep.org, where school closing information will be clearly posted on the main page.
- Television: We notify major networks in Boston (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC) who post their information on screen and online.
- Phone: Learning Prep School utilizes an automated system to call current families for emergency information or school closings. When you receive this call, you will see “617-965-0764” on your caller I.D. This system is activated by automated voice recognition. In order to receive these notifications from LPS, when the phone rings, you may either pick up the phone and say “hello” or you may let the call go to voicemail. The response generated from your end of the phone will trigger the feature in our system. Please understand that due to the distances that students and staff come from, the cancellation call will come as early as 5:00 a.m.
